Most likely yes.  I tried (without success) to enable the Visual Confirmation feature for new users.  For some reason this doesn't work for this site, I'm not sure why.  I searched the phpBB help forum, but coudn't find a solution.  I posted a question there related to this problem a week ago, but haven't seen a response yet.

The short answer is when I made that change it might have changed how the cookies are read by the forum.  Of course this is a wild guess and I could be wrong entirely.

Now I've been losing cookies. I usually click the 'automatically log me in' button, but then the next time, I'll be logged out again. But I have to enter my name/password twice to log into the site again.. and when I checked in WinExp, I don't have any planetcrimson.net cookies at all. Maybe they're being stolen and eaten?

I'm getting a little frustrated with the site lately.
I can't seem to keep the bots out again.  I have to delete at least one new "member" every day.
Lots of people are having cookie problems.
    Visual confirmation isn't working.
    Administrative confirmation isn't working either.

I started to wipe the entire site and reload it from scratch yesterday, but then was pulled away by the job.  Hopefully I'll have time to get back at that later this week.  Before anyone freaks out.  I'm just planning to wipe out the bulletin board and the portal.  The database (where all the posts are kept) won't get touched.  FYI, I back-up the database two or three times a month.

I've still got the same problem with the bots at ProjeKction. I've just turned on "user-activation" and just delete all the members that don't activate or whose activation email gets bounced to my webmaster email address. I delete over 30 bogus members a week. It's a right royal pain in the arse.

I'd like to welcome our newest member HotWetPussy06.

Welcome! What's your favorite Crimson album?

I used to know your sister ColdDryPussy05.

Pull up a chair, but please use the one with the plastic cover.
Thanks.

Welcome HWP. Help yourself to a cold drink from the fridge.
And as suggested earlier, do stay on the plastic...

Wouldn't that be better to attract new members?

Wow, at first glance I thought our newest member, NudesOnCam, was actually NudesOnKram.  Damn those occupational hazards...
