I suspect being on the road with the Humans and his lovely wife will overcome at least some of the suckage inherent in touring.
I also suspect that the tour will include more stops in friendly confines like Chicago and Seattle, and fewer in the hinterlands (Texas, New Jersey, Lower Alabama).

Don't know of course whether this "we" includes Fripp but she does refer to him as "The Humans’ guitarist"

The Humans feature bass, bass, and bass (see Tuner's 'On Bass' from Muut if you don't have The Humans album), RF is the only one who ever plays six-string guitar with them (so far, only as a guest), hence he is "The Humans' Guitarist". I don't think it has any bearing on him joining the group for touring or anything else, as it's more of an in-band joke naming, as far as I can tell.

Somehow I think when comparing viable touring lineups, of 1) bass, bass, and bass or 2) bass, bass, bass, and Fripp, only a bass player thinks the former is plausible, lol.  Wink (Didn't know about the third bass player, most likely Bill Rieflin will be playing keyboards too, but when I think of a two bass band I'm reminded of Hugo Largo, don't know if anyone else remembers them, probably so here since they were on Eno's label and promoted by him.)

Robert replied to Ade in his dairy. Long story short, no KC but 9 month of writing (and I don't think he means music) starting in 2011.
 Huh?

I am now surfing the web using Firefoxes King Crimson persona.

I have to agree with Robert:

"my own question would be: can we play this music as well today as 30 years ago? i'm not sure we could. which would then lead to: so what would we play? that leads into new material for those people today, and that is a reach too far for me right now."

and Bill:

"would I do an 80’s KC? Not if I can help it! It’s precisely because I loved the 80s band so much that I would be highly unlikely to try to recreate the same thing, a mission I fear destined to failure. My experience of reunions, has, on the whole, been underwhelming."

"The first piece of music I ever performed publicly was a La Monte [Young] piece. That was in 1967 or '68. It was a repetitive piece, and it remains in my mind as one of my great musical experiences. It really is a cornerstone of everything I've done since."   Brian Eno, 1981

I think that was Bill's comment. But yes, we all probably thought the same thing.

I'm more interested in What Robert means about writing. It looks like he's talking about words more than music (judging from his later reference to new KC music as "too far")... I could be wrong, but I remain curious.

Writing refers to the book he's working on:  Dear Andrew.

Oh man, I cannot wait to read that one.

So, the Cave/Fripp collaboration is an alternate version of the first single from the forthcoming 2nd Grinderman album and will only be available on the AA-side of the limited 12" vinyl pressing of the single 'Heathen Child'.

Yes, vinyl is officially awesome!

I guess some of you lot should be buying a turntable soon then.  Grin

Well... if I was a rich man, yes. But it would have to be a very sylish one.

Until then, I may just buy vinyl for the wonderful big art!

Wow, Kram, that's faaaaaaabulous.  Very Clockwork Orange.  I love it.  In my imagination, your whole house is decorated like that.

I especially like the bar table.  On the one hand, the individual built-in bottle cozies ensure that none of your tequila-addled party guests will accidentally knock the liquor off the table onto the ultra-groovy yet certainly unyielding spiderweb-patterned ceramic tile floor.  On the other hand...how many tries do you think it'll take a tequila-addled party guest to successfully place said bottle in its cozy?

Could be fun to watch.

Sazzle, yeah, that bar table rocks! My place is on it's way to looking like that!

From FB: Mr. Mister is actually
releasing a new album! It's called "Push" and it was stuck in record
company limbo for 20 years (too edgy). What about that? For those who
don't know, Pat was the drummer.

Mr. Mister are officially releasing Push? Wow.

It's been "doing the rounds" for a long time (though I don't have it). I'm curious as to if the package will contain any extra enticements after 20 years on the shelves.
