Happy end of year festive season of whatever type you may celebrate. Hope you all get to spend it warm, safe and surrounded by loved ones.
Kram, are Vinny and Stella also vegans?

Happy 4-day weekend all. As much as Christmas sucks, I feel lucky to have friends like you guys.

Saz, You could come down and enjoy the balmy summer-ish weather we're currently having: temps dropping into the low 30s, wind gusting 35-40 sustained at 20. Dont know what that makes the wind chill. COLD. Waiting for the turkey and turducken tomorrow to warm me up.

Best Christmas moment for me this year,
whilst rooting under the tree for pressies for the family who were with me I noticed a small package I had never seen before. Closer inspection revealed my name and an Australian stamp. I eventually worked out that my friend who does some cleaning must have picked it up from the post on Christmas eve and sneaked it under the tree without telling me, but for a while I was reassessing my understanding of the nature of Father Christmas.
I have great friends

Ah Scorchy, how you make me miss the glorious Southwest! Love to take my wife on a long roadtrip there. I had a wonderful Christmas. Received the Monk book, a new I-pod Nano (I like to listen while I bike), a $50 gift card for i-tunes (Dammit, i-tunes cave and cut a deal with Uncle Bobby- now!), and Zappa's Yellow Shark CD! Plus had some divine beer, namely Bourbon County Stout and ton's of raw chocolates!

Thanks as always for the scenery, Larry. I still hope to see the region for myself someday.
Nice haul there, Kram. Think you could let us know what you think of the Monk book when you're through it?

While we wait for The Word From on High, here is a good interview with the author with, who else, Terry Gross, to listen to. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=121197087I am intrigued, but may wait for the paperback, assuming sales warrant one.
