Interesting battle of the bands occurred to me today:
Jurassic 5
Maroon 5
Ben Folds 5
MC5
Dave Clark 5
Grand Master Flash and the Furious 5

Musically, the older three have it all over the current efforts.
In an actual "battle" of the bands, my money would be on the MC5 (Detroit) or Grand Master Flash and the lads (South Bronx), unless Jurassic 5 got to bring along their pet velociraptors.

But what about the Jackson 5?

Tito and Jermain could probably take out any of the current bands, but my money is still on GMF or the MC5 in a bar fight.

Also the Fifth Dimension.

Do they each get to choose their own song for the competition, or will they all have to do a cover of Dave Brubeck's "Take Five"?

PS: Funny you should bring this up now, as I was just remarking to the Handymaniac at Summerfest last weekend that they ought to have one stage featuring Sheryl Crow, The Black Crowes, and Counting Crows (onakowna two of the three bands were playing at the fest anyways).  The Byrds and Flock of Seagulls would open.

I wouldn't rule out Five Finger Death Punch myself. Oh yeah, and Five for Fighting could be the opener in this case.

Not sure if the Eagles are re-formed again or not.
