Finally have all the pre-employment screening paperwork submitted.
There was a three page document explaing what to do with the other 11 documents.
Feb 19th is the first day of the next chapter of my work-life.

Note to self, dont put the wrong memory format onto a motherboard. Its a bad thing.
Bad for the memory chips, bad for the motherboard.

Good news is you can get motherboards for older kit for $30 on ebay.

AND WHAT THE %*^& is up with this *&^%ing weather. Its February and its still long-sleeves weather.

OK, yesterday was muggy. Thats right muggy. It was into the low 70s and humid enough to be not so comfy outdoors.
Today was chilly and breezy again.
I shouldnt complain however, a buddy of mine moved to Oswego NY a couple of years ago. He's only about 5'2" tall, so its now snowed almost twice his height this week. And his family lives outside town on acreage with a 200 yd driveway.

Dinner tonight was proof that there's no such thing as too much garlic.
A fresh hot loaf of french bread, more of garlic spread-de-saz, homemade meatballs, fresh veggie red sauce with the remains of a bottle of trapiche malbec and spaghetti. Altogether 1-1/2 heads of garlic to make all that. Not cloves, large fat heads of garlic.

Oh yeah and I drank the bottle of Arrogant Bastard ale in the fridge. It was definitely arrogant, it strong opinions of itself. Very aromatically hoppy, slightly cloudy and the thickest head I've ever seen on something that didnt call itself a stout. And a bloody big bottle to boot.

One more week at the old job before I switch places. I get to move about 20 yards down the hall and a couple of lightyears from anything I've ever done before.

First week at work mostly spent doing paperwork.
New office, new computer to break in, etc.
Also having to deal with lots of new responsibilities.
Learning new words like process, service level, ITIL, metrics, etc.

Dinner the last couple of nights has been a HUGE batch of mac-y, cheesey goodness with lots of diced ham, onion and garlic mixed in and more of the SAZ over-the-top-garlic-bread. MMMMMMMMMM and enough for another 3-4 nights.

Oh, contrary to the subject line its been in the 70s most of this week.

This weekend will be spent planting trees (if it doesnt rain too much).
There's a red maple for the front yard, an Okitsu Satsuma (mikan in japan) and a Loquat (biwa in Japan) for the back yard.
Should start getting fruit by next year.

OK It's not actually cold anymore, clear sunny and 70s. This is the 3 weeks twice a year when the weather is perfect.

We got these cat toys for our kitties.
They've been continually mauling, chewing and drooling on the one in the middle while ignoring the other two.
Either they put catnip in the middle one or we've raised proper liberal kitties. I like to think the latter.

Our freshly planted trees looking perky today.
