The Power to Believe

Today I made my first real sale:  I did something I never thought I'd do (but I'm glad I did) and sold two of my paintings!

The works were conceived whilst listening to TPTB, an album that was playing when they left their mother's arms.   Thank you for being such an inspiration, Crimson Boys... thank you, always.

Congrats.
Hopefully they went to homes where they will be appreciated.

Cool Abs, did you let the buyer know about the musical inspiration?

No Michael, it was downloaded copy of a pre-FM Master tape, 8-9-74 in Denver. In spots Di Meola's sustained Les Paul tone and Corea's electric piano really reminded me of Phil Miller and Dave Stewart in National Health, an interesting revelation for me (that NH might have been influenced by RTF). One of the friends I played it for saw RTF twice while attending the U of Kentucky during this period; he said they were great shows.

Yes Larry, it seems that he's a classical rock fan but hadn't heard Crim since the John Wetton days.  He was stunned at their sound, I think it blew him away.  I think the power of Ade's influence bowled him over!

Thanks.  I was just curious, as I'm surprised there aren't more official releases like this out there.

I never saw RTF, but I did see Di Meola play in the 70s.  He was opening for Rennaissance, whose set I left very early.  He was something to watch, that's for sure.

I don't have all of my music with me, unfortunately, as I have the weighty responsibility of representing Adrian and KC to a newbie. Side Two is MIA and Side Three is at her crib so... I did this for some i-poddage. Added some KTU as study for Chicago. Cheesy

Good mix there, K. It was hard enough for me to make one that was Belew-centric (to prepare the EM for last year's concert) even without the other stuff...

Aghora, Formless
I love it. I love it a lot. Anyone who liked that track from my mix, check out some newer samples here. I can't plug these guys enough.

Mix de Twidz
Bill Evans, Sunday at the Village Vanguard
Mix of RF Soundscape Tickles
Coltrane, some '61 Village Vanguard Recordings

Thank you, HT!  And thanks to others who were so kind to wish me congratulations, too.   It was a good experience for me and one that I hope to have again soon.

Abs - Congrats on the sales! That's awesome!

Gambit - Got the new Aghora huh? Pretty sweet? How's the bass-work without Sean Malone? Where'd you get it?

Recently:

Enslaved: Ruun
King Crimson: Discipline Still love this album, but like it was already mentioned, I always find myself thinking I'd rather be listening to the live versions lol.
